On Saturday 20 April 2013 the 2nd leg of the Nando's 13.5T challenge was held at Welkom RC Raceway South Africa. Team XRAY proved to be to strong for the competition once again, with a clean sweep on the podium.
The race format was the same as at the Reedy race with 8 rounds of heads up racing. Racing was tight but very clean on the technical layout that Welkom raceway is known for. Not even the cold wet weather could keep the racers away from the amazing indoor facility that is every racers dream. With its flat high grip surface even the Solaris spec tyre proved to be very quick with times varying with only 0.2 seconds from the pace set at the previous round that was run on sorex tyres.

The event was split into two groups, with the top 6 SA Drivers competing in the Invitational Challenge and the rest in the Cup Challenge.
